A Plea is filed against Ranveer Singh’s film Jayeshbhai Jordaar after the first trailer

The film Jayeshbhai Jordaar, starring Ranveer Singh, was challenged in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday. The trailer for the film, which was released last month, discusses female foeticide. As well as pre-natal sex-determination during ultrasonography.

Though the film focuses on female foeticide and aims to promote the Save Girl Child cause. The trailer also shows ultrasound technology being used for sex determination. Which is prohibited in India under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, 1994.

“The ultrasound clinic scene where the technology of ultrasound for sex selection is being advertised openly . Without censorship and as per section 3, 3A, 3B, 4, 6, and 22 of the PC & PNDT Act, same is not allowed. Hence the instant PIL,” said the Live Law India.

Shalini Pandey, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Boman Irani feature in Jayeshbhai Jordaar along with Ranveer Singh. Divyang Thakkar directs the film. Which is produced by Yash Raj Films and Maneesh Sharma.
