Interference is more dangerous than conspiracy: Sheikh Rashid

ISLAMABAD: Referring to the lettergate that caused a furore in Pakistan’s political situation, Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid on Friday has said that intervention is more dangerous than conspiracy.

Sheikh Rashid lambasted the newly elected government of Shehbaz Sharif and said on Twitter that a two-vote majority government would end politically in two months.

Imran Khan will announce the date of the long march in today’s Mianwali gathering, said the former interior minister.

Rashid termed the commencement of meetings by PML-N as a link to early elections adding that it was better for the current government to announce new elections before May 31.

He said in his message that the imperialist letter which was a conspiracy to overthrow Imran Khan’s government was considered baseless and fake by the Shehbaz Sharif’s government and today they are announcing to formulate an inquiry commission against their own statement while Imran Khan is demanding a judicial commission.

Sheikh Rashid went on to say that it has been proved that interference is more dangerous than conspiracy as the British did in the subcontinent.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan demanded that the Supreme Court should conduct an open hearing into the matter relating to the threatening diplomatic letter, claiming that the National Security Committee (NSC) endorsed his previous claims again.

Addressing the media in Islamabad, he said the NSC’s latest statement established that there was a US conspiracy to remove him from office.

Imran Khan said the cable was real and that Pakistan’s ex-ambassador to the US held a meeting with American official Donald Lu where the ‘threatening’ language was used.
