According to Reuters, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres stated on Wednesday that the problem of global food hunger could not be solved without recovering Ukrainian agricultural production as well as Russian food and fertiliser production.

Guterres warned that the war in Ukraine was; “putting in motion a three-dimensional disaster that is damaging global food, energy, and financial systems; for developing nations” during his first visit to Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

“There is no true solution to the problem of global food security without bringing back the agriculture production of Ukraine; as well as the food and fertiliser production of Russia and Belarus, into world markets despite the war”; he says, pledging an additional $351 million to Nigeria’s $1.1 billion humanitarian aid package.
