Several adjustments have occurred as a result of the most recent annual revision to ICC ODI Team Rankings.
The rankings encompass ODIs from May 2019 to May 2022, with the first two years’ results weighted 50% and the most recent 12 months’ results weighted 100%.
New Zealand now has the No. 1 ODI position, but England is closing in on them, with the gap falling to just one rating point.
England has handily pushed aside Sri Lanka and Pakistan in ICC Cricket World Cup Super League play since the last annual change, gaining 55 points through 2-0 and 3-0 series triumphs at home.
The margin between Eoin Morgan’s side and Australia has now expanded to 17 points, with Australia shedding five points in the most recent update.
Aaron Finch’s team won two of three matches against the West Indies in Barbados, but lost two of their three matches in Pakistan.
These results propelled Pakistan up one slot to fifth place, overtaking South Africa and bringing it closer to India in a ten-point swing.
Despite only playing nine One-Day Internationals in the last year, the team has lost four, including all three on their last tour to South Africa.
Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and Afghanistan have remained in the same positions from seventh to tenth, while Ireland has jumped ahead of Scotland to 11th.
Ireland’s successful Caribbean trip, led by Andy Balbirnie, was a catalyst in the shuffle.
