The defence ministry claimed on Tuesday that Russian missiles targeted a military airport in Odesa, Ukraine’s southern city, destroying drones, missiles, and ammunition given to Ukraine by the US and its European partners.
According to the defence ministry, “high-precision Onyx missiles targeted a logistics center at a military airstrip in the Odesa area through which foreign weapons were being transferred.”
“Hangars carrying unmanned Bayraktar TB2 drones, as well as missiles and ammunition from the United States and Europe, were destroyed,” the statement read.
Various military sites in Ukraine were also hit by Russian missiles and artillery, including command centers, arsenals, and an S-300 anti-aircraft missile system.
Maksym Marchenko, the governor of Odesa, said a rocket strike targeted the Black Sea port city on Monday evening, killing and injuring people.
