Shama Sikander, who plays Shama, says she never misses Eid because she eats sheer qorma and biryani, and she hopes to host a lunch for her family and friends today.
Shama Sikander is looking forward to celebrating her first Eid since marrying James Milliron in March of this year.
She said, “Eid has always been an integral part of my life since childhood. I used to fast a lot before, and look forward to getting Eidi. That is what children want! This time, because obviously it’s my first after wedding, so we are excited to host our loved ones. This time though, I am looking forward to giving eidi, it’s a total shift.”
The 40-year-old said the festivities will begin in the morning and will include her entire family and friends. “We’ll set up a meal.” Everyone gets up early in the morning to do Eid prayers and then break the fast. My mother and my entire family prepare delectable dishes and then bring them to my residence. The kebabs are fantastic. Every Eid, the one thing I never fail to do is eat sheer qorma and biryani! I don’t plan ahead of time. I don’t cook; it’s not something I enjoy doing. “I’m not a big fan of it; I’m more of an eater,” Shama adds.
The actor says they both don’t follow any rituals, “We both were very religious at one point, now are totally into spirituality. It’s not like we don’t want to, but it just doesn’t come into our natural being. We respect everybody who does it, goes for iftar. We have iftar at our home as well. Both of us are hence spiritual, we don’t do any religious activities anymore. It just happened, it was a conscious decision.”
