Zelensky: About 100 civilians were evacuated from the Azovstal factory

The evacuation of residents from Mariupol’s Azovstal steel mill, which was devastated by Russian bombardment, has begun. The first wave of refugees is already on their way to government-controlled area.

“The evacuation of Azovstal’s inhabitants has begun. The first group, consisting of approximately 100 persons, is already on its way to the confined area. We’ll see them in Zaporizhzhia tomorrow. We owe a debt of gratitude to our staff! “Right now, they’re working with the UN to evacuate more civilians from the facility,” Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Twitter.

Approximately 1,000 civilians and Ukrainian military, including 600 injured, remain on the plant’s grounds, according to reports.

Mariupol is witnessing one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world as a result of Russian assault. Invaders bomb innocent civilians, obstruct humanitarian help, and deport Ukrainian citizens to Russia’s impoverished regions.

Mariupol is still being defended by soldiers from the Azov Regiment, marines, and motorized riflemen.
