An application for registration of an FIR has been filed in Faisalabad against PML-N leaders including Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif on blasphemy charges.
The application has been submitted at Madina Town police station in Faisalabad in which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, PML-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif, and PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz have been nominated.
The application for registration of FIR has been filed against PML-N leaders in the context of Rana Sanaullah’s comments during a talk show on a private television channel.

The now-interior minister had commented that receiving Nawaz Sharif [on his arrival from abroad] was a more virtuous deed than performing Hajj.
The plaintiff Shehbaz Awan said Rana Sanaullah gave the blasphemous statement at the behest of Khurram Dastagir and Hamza Shehbaz.
He maintained that all nominated suspects committed blasphemy of Hajj. He said the comments by PML-N’s leader hurt the sentiments of the Muslims.
He contended that the nominated suspects also tried to remove a column from the affidavit of the election commission of Pakistan (ECP) that bounds a candidate to certify the finality of the Prophethood of Muhammad (PBUH).
The plaintiff pleaded registration of a case against the nominated suspects under Articles 295(A), 295, 296, and 297 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
