ISLAMABAD: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is going to meet in Islamabad Sunday evening (today) for sighting the crescent of Shawal 1443 AH.
Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad will chair the meeting and announce the final decision about moon sighting or otherwise.
The zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal Committees’ meetings would also be held at their respective headquarters
According to sources of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the moon is most likely to be sighted on Monday.

It is pertinent to mention here that moon has not been sighted in Saudi Arabia and different other parts of the world, hence they would observe 30 days of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, after nine witnesses were produced before them last night, the religious scholars of North Waziristan had announced to observe Eid on Sunday (today). They said they decided in this regard after deliberating over accepting or rejecting the testimony of the witnesses.
The PMD said the dust-thunderstorm and rain expected during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays will help subside the heatwave conditions gripping most parts of the country during this week thereby decreasing the day temperatures from 4 to 6 degree Celsius.
A westerly wave is likely to enter western part of the country from May 1 and likely to persist till May 5 (Thursday).
Under the influence of this weather system, rain-wind/ thunderstorm is expected in Chaghi, Noshki, Quetta, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Loralai, Mastung, Zhob, Ziarat, Kalat, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Barkhan, Larkana, Jaccobabad, Sukkur, Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Bhakkar, Multan, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Okara, Pakpattan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, and Rahimyar Khan from May 1 to May 3.
