Denis Villeneuve, the Dune chief, was close by to grant the namesake Denis Villeneuve Coup de Coeur prize to Clara Milo for her short film Aska on Friday night in Montreal.

Villeneuve’s most recent film is his variation of Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel Dune.

He got his filmmaking start in Quebec, where his French-language motion pictures incorporated his 2010 advancement non mainstream Incendies, in view of an acclaimed stage play by Wajdi Mouawad.

Once in Hollywood, Villeneuve coordinated Prisoners, Sicario, Arrival and Blade Runner 2049, which collected two Academy Awards.
