RIYADH: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif performed Umrah in Makkah on Saturday.
The doors of Khana Kaaba were especially opened for the prime minister and his delegation.
On the occasion, he prayed for the peace and progress of Pakistan and the entire Muslim Ummah.

During his three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman in Jeddah on Friday night and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.
Earlier, on his arrival at Royal Palace, he was received by the Crown Prince. He was also presented guard of honour on the occasion.
In an interview with Arab News Pakistan Edition, PM Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan wanted to transform its historic relations with Saudi Arabia into a deep and diverse strategic partnership.

The prime minister said the two countries had the special bond for the last seven decades. He said it was now their earnest desire to transform the relationship into a deep, diverse and mutually beneficial partnership.
Shehbaz said both countries were now working on exploring new and non-conventional areas of bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on promoting economic, trade and investment ties.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are bound by fraternal relationship marked by mutual trust and understanding, close cooperation, and an abiding tradition of supporting each other. The people of Pakistan hold the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in the highest esteem.
The bilateral relationship is complemented by close mutual collaboration at regional and international fora. Saudi Arabia is a member of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a home to more than two million Pakistanis, contributing to the progress, prosperity and economic development of the two brotherly countries.
The regular high-level visits are a key feature of this special relationship. The prime minister’s visit to Saudi Arabia will impart a strong impetus to deepening bilateral cooperation in diverse fields and further reinforce the growing partnership between the two countries.
