Megan McKenna and boyfriend Josh Riley have called it quits after 20 months of dating.. The singer told, ‘I want to deal with this privately and we had an amicable breakup’ following the end of the couple’s relationship.
Megan, who has also starred on Ex on the Beach and Celebs Go Dating, has been quiet about her relationship with the apparel designer, but stated in November that they were ‘really happy.’
A source said, ‘Megan and Josh were spending a lot of time in different countries and things just haven’t worked out.
‘They have unfollowed each other on Instagram and Megan has removed the few photos she shared of herself and Josh from her profile.
‘She is incredibly busy with her career, working on new music, touring, and is celebrating the release of her new cookery book, she is focused on work right now.’
Megan recently visited Los Angeles, while Josh vacationed in Marbella during her absence, and by the time she returned to the UK, he was in New York.
She shared an image of a candlelit steak meal she prepared for Josh on Valentine’s Day in February, but the romantic photo has now been taken from her Instagram profile.
The Celebrity MasterChef contestant, whose book Can You Make That Gluten Free? was released today, has been focusing on her profession in recent years, having left reality television to pursue her dreams of being a singer.
Megan’s relationship with 27-year-old Josh was initially disclosed in August 2020 on The X Factor: Australia. Later, the celebrity winner stated that she appreciated discussing her love life, but only within the context of her songs.
In November she told, ‘I learned the hard way. Having more of a private life is a happy life. I feel like when you’re pushing things out a lot you are inviting people to comment. I like to keep things back, but I do write a lot about it in my songs.
‘I have written a few love songs, which is very, very, rare for me because usually it’s about heartbreak.
‘He is so supportive of my music. He really understands the industry, he does his clothing brand, and he understands it all. He loves listening to my songs. When I come home and I’ve written one, I play it to him. He’s very proud of me.
‘It’s going really well and I’m really happy with him. I like the way it is and it’s good to keep some things back, my family likes him too.’
Megan, who catapulted to stardom in 2015, chose to keep her relationship with Josh private after ‘learning the hard way’ with her previous relationships being publicly recorded on TOWIE.
The TV star has previously had relationships with Pete Wicks from TOWIE, Scotty T from Geordie Shore, and reality sensation Jordan Davies.
