Virtuoso actor Salim Ghouse dies at 70

Salim Ghouse, veteran performer, died earlier today (April 28). He was 70 years old at the time.

The veteran actor, who was born in Chennai, was one of the most well-known faces on television in the 1980s.

Salim Ghouse appeared in a number of films and television shows, but he rose to prominence after acting in Doordarshan’s TV series Subah.

He also played a number of roles that the audience adored. Some of them appeared in Shyam Benegal’s TV series Bharat Ek Khoj, such as Rama, Krishna, and Tipu Sultan.

Salim has appeared in films such as Manthan, Kalyug, Chakra, Saaransh, Mohan Joshi Hazir Ho, Trikal, Aghaat, Drohi, Thiruda Thiruda, Sardari Begum, Koyla, Soldier, Aks, and Vettaikaaran Well Done Abba & Kaa.

He was a voice over artist who dubbed for films such as The Lion King and 300, in addition to being a well-known actor.

Salim was an FTII Pune graduate. The famous actor was engaged with his theatre activities in Mumbai throughout his final years.
