Diplomats from Austria have returned to Kyiv as embassy is opening

In solidarity with Ukraine, employees of the Austrian embassy returned to Kyiv last week. According to Ukrinform, the Austrian Foreign Ministry posted this on Twitter.

“We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, who have been subjected to Russia’s unprecedented military attack. Members of our Embassy returned to Kyiv last week as an important demonstration of our everlasting solidarity with Ukraine,” according to the report.

Russia began a new chapter of its eight-year conflict against Ukraine on February 24: a full-scale invasion. Artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and ballistic missiles have been used by Russian soldiers to attack and destroy major infrastructure facilities, as well as conduct heavy shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages.
