A kebab seller from Srinagar, Kashmir won the International best photograph
A photograph of a road food merchant working at a smoke-shrouded broiler has won a significant food photography grant.
Debdatta Chakraborty was named as the general champ of Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year 2022 for a picture named Kebabiyana, which was taken in Srinagar, in Indian-regulated Kashmir.
The Indian photographic artist snapped the photo on a bustling road around evening time, as merchants started up charcoal broilers to get ready wazwan kebabs and other road food.
“In this day and age, like never before, we feel the requirement for solace, for adoration,” says grants pioneer and chief Caroline Kenyon.
“There is such a huge amount to console us here – the flawlessly caught surging hug of the smoke, the brilliant light, the subject’s appearance as he readies the nourishment for sharing.
“Sparkles fly from the sticks, whose simmering we can nearly smell. We envision the warm, flavorful fragrance.
“This picture, delicate however strong, sustains our spirit.”
