Japanese manga series Naruto and Jordan Brand will collaborate in the future, according to avid anime fan Zion Williamson. The Jordan Zion 1, Williamson’s first signature sneaker, will serve as the collection’s centrepiece, he said. The project is based on their “parallel journeys of overcoming adversity,” he explained.

In the past, Williamson has expressed his admiration for anime and Naruto in particular. At least one in-game interview in 2019 featured Williamson’s mother Sharonda Sampson revealing that she and her son watch it together.
