KARACHI: Youm-e-Ali, the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali, is to be observed today (Saturday) on 21st Ramazan throughout the country with reverence amid strict security measures.

In accordance with the day, Karachi police has special security plans for the processions across the city.

As per details, arrangement have been made for the main procession in Karachi and the roads adjacent to the Youm-e-rally have been cordoned off with containers.

Police said that a large number of containers have been placed at MA Jinnah Road, Numaish Chowrangi, Empress Market and surrounding areas while the shops in these areas have also been sealed.

The procession will commence from Nishtar Park to reach Kharadar via its designated routes of Numaish Chowrangi, MA Jinnah Road and Empress Market.

The procession will terminate at Hussainian Iranian Imambargah while the central majlis will take place at Nishtar Park.

The traffic will be kept terminated to proceed towards the designated procession routes and diversion plans have been issued by Karachi police in connection with the day.

Strict security measures have been made by South and East Zone Police for Youm-e-Ali as well as by Rangers, Elite Commandos, Traffic Police, Bomb Disposal Unit, and Special Branch officers.
