Glasgow man sentenced for stealing a dog at knifepoint

A man in Glasgow was sentenced to 19 months in prison for stealing a dog at knifepoint and stabbing two ladies who confronted him.

Jamie Dunn, 34, threatened Jamie Jenkins in the basement of a Maryhill apartment complex.

He then fled with Lennon, a Staffordshire bull terrier that Mr. Jenkins had been caring for his spouse.

Dunn later attacked Shelley MacKie and Nicola McFarlane on the same block after they confronted him.

Ms. MacKie was struck on the head, torso, and abdomen, creating a one-to-two-inch wound.

Ms. McFarlane was stabbed in the head and had a minor facial cut.

On Friday, the attacker pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assaulting Mr. Jenkins and rob him of the dog.

“As for Lennon,” prosecutor Mark Allan told the court, “he followed them (Ms. McKie and Ms. McFarlane) upstairs and returned to the flat, where he was reunited with the occupants.”
