A youngster was abducted by a monkey and pulled away by her hair while playing outdoors on her scooter, according to shocking footage.
After being rescued from the violent attack in China’s Chongqing Municipality on Tuesday, the unaware tiny tot was left with scratches over her face.
The monkey is seen sneaking up on the girl as she plays in the streets, pushing her to the ground and attempting to take her away in the footage.
However, she was spared thanks to the acts of a vigilant spectator who grabbed the youngster from the animal’s claws before it could carry her any farther.
The event occurred as the girl’s mother, Liu, was cooking inside, according to her.
Her next-door neighbours were the only ones who told her about the terrifying incident before she saw the dramatic CCTV tape for herself.
The enraged mother immediately reported the event to the police, who verified that the girl would be sent to a hospital for additional treatment, including a vaccine.
According to reports from worried neighbours, the monkey initially came in the area in May of last year and was already known to police for attacking elderly people on many occasions.
According to local authorities, the little animal lives in the neighbouring highlands and occasionally visits the residential area to create havoc.
Despite several attempts to apprehend the monkey, the hunt has been futile.
To safeguard people, authorities have verified that once the monkey is found, it would be turned over to the wild animal protection agency.
Attacks by wild monkeys are sporadic, according to the local forestry authority, and measures are being done to prevent them from assaulting humans again.
It comes a year after the heartbreaking aftermath of a horrible monkey assault that left a two-month-old infant maimed, as reported by the Sun.
While his mother was in the kitchen, the predator attacked the infant in the living room.
When the mother heard her seven-week-old sobbing loudly, she went into the living room and discovered her injured kid on the floor and the animal standing at the front door.
Although the local council claimed to have apprehended the wild monkey responsible for the attack, police never confirmed what happened to the animal.
