A YOUNG bodybuilder has shockingly died at just 31.

Stacey Cummings, a Texas mother of two, died on April 20th, according to reports. Her cause of death has yet to be determined.

Cummings, a Florida native, began competing in 2013 and obtained her IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness) pro card in 2016, according to Generation Iron.

She participated in the bikini class at the IFBB Texas Pro in 2021.

“It is with deep hearts that we announce the terrible and untimely demise of IFBB Pro Stacey Cummings,” the National Physique Committee’s Texas section announced.

What have people said about Cummings?

Many of Cummings’ friends have resorted to social media to express their sorrow at her passing.

“What a lovely woman,” Cummings’ friend and fellow IFBB professional Kelly Lynn said online. I can’t believe what I’m hearing. In 2020, we performed three performances together, and I was at Nationals when she went pro. What a bizarre situation. I’m only 31 years old.

“It’s heartbreaking to watch so many folks pass away recently.”

“Stacey was a mother of two lovely children, a daughter, a sister, and an amazing friend in addition to being an athlete.

“She will be deeply missed, but she will always be remembered. Her family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved her are in our thoughts and prayers.”

According to the Texas chapter of the National Physique Committee, “Stacey Cummings, IFBB Pro, passed away tragically and prematurely.

“Stacey was a mother of two lovely children, a sister, and an amazing friend in addition to being an athlete.

“She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on. Her family, friends, and all those who knew and loved her are in our thoughts and prayers.”

Recent bodybuilder deaths

Cummings’ death is the latest in a long line of high-profile early deaths that has wreaked havoc on the bodybuilding world in recent months.

At the age of 44, Cedric McMillan, the 2017 Arnold Classic champion, died of a heart attack while running on a treadmill last week.

In February, a former bodybuilder named Tom Prince died of cancer at the age of 52, just days after Ashley Gearhart, 37, died of unexplained causes.

Chuck Kirkendall, 46, the 2018 Mr Olympia champion, said in November that he had just had a heart attack, while John Meadows, 49, died of a blood clot in August.
