Ukraine allies have promised to send more weapons to aid the country’s defense against a renewed Russian offensive.
During a 90-minute video chat, the US and others pledged to deliver artillery, anti-tank, and air defense aid to Kyiv.
Ukraine claims it requires the weapons to defend itself as Russia begins a new offensive in the country’s east.
Clashes have marked the start of the “war for the Donbas,” according to Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky.
Russia is concentrating its efforts on the eastern Donbas, which includes the Luhansk and Donetsk areas.
Russian forces have been attacking Ukrainian positions throughout the entire 300-mile (480-kilometer) front line since Monday, according to Ukraine.
In the midst of the increased attacks, Western officials convened to debate additional military aid for Ukraine.
Following the meeting, the US Defense Department announced that new military aircraft and parts had been given to Ukraine to expand their fleet and repair damaged aircraft in Ukraine’s arsenal.
