High-level MQMP-PPP meeting postponed for tomorrow: sources

KARACHI: A high-level meeting scheduled today (Wednesday) between the representatives of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan and Pakistan Peoples Party was delayed due to funeral prayers of late MNA Iqbal Muhammad Ali, sources informed Bol News.

The meeting is now scheduled tomorrow (Thursday).

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in his meeting with MQM representatives, earlier, stressed the timely completion of important development projects of Karachi including Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) and K-4 as well announced the establishment of a new university as he visited the MQM-P head office in Bahadarabad to meet its leadership.

The MQM leadership felicitated the prime minister on his election. They assured to work closely with the federal government for the welfare of the residents, and the development and progress of the province, particularly Karachi.

The meeting was attended by MQM-P Convenor Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Senior Deputy Convenor Aamir Khan, Syed Aminul Haq, Dr Faroogh Naseem, and Kanwar Jameel.

PML-N members of the national assembly (MNAs) including Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Maulana Asad Mahmood, Ahsan Iqbal, and others were present during the meeting along with Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah.

The prime minister appreciated the coalition parties’ resolve for the public welfare.
Earlier, PM Shehbaz Sharif visited the mausoleum of Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, where he paid his respects and offered Fateha. This was the first visit of Shehbaz Sharif to the Mazar-e-Quaid after he took the oath as the prime minister on April 11.
