Liverpool, who have recently won the Carabao Cup in the ongoing season, is now in the race to clinch the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk believes that it is a tough journey until the very end. He, however, hopes this season to be special and fantastic.

The Reds are in the finals of the FA Cup. They thrashed Manchester City 3-2 in the semi-final to book the finals with Chelsea on May 14.

They will lock horns with Villarreal in the semis of the Champions League and are two points ahead of Man City as they look to make their way to the finals of the Premier League.

“It’s still going to be quite a tough journey until the end of the season in all the competitions we’re still in. Like we always say, we take it game by game and that doesn’t change,” he said, according to Sky Sports.

However, he believes that Liverpool has to level up their game as quadruple has never happened.

“It doesn’t always go that way and that’s why it’s never been done in England. The quadruple has never happened,” he stressed.

“Obviously we’re in a good situation, we have a final to play in the FA Cup, we have semi-finals against a very difficult opponent in the Champions League [against Villarreal] and we are second in the league,” he said about the overall scenario.

Dijkwin believes they should just take things one game at a time, enjoy the season, and then see where it all leads.

“What we feel is we just have to give it a go, play the remaining games of the season with a lot of joy, work hard and give your all and we’ll see where it leads to,” he stressed.

“It’s been an eventful, outstanding season with everyone being a big part of it in all competitions – younger players, players who don’t play as much as they want. It’s been so far a very good season for us but we want to make it a special and fantastic one,” he revealed about the ongoing season.
