Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke to President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to a statement from 10 Downing Street, they discussed the situation in Mariupol, with the British PM saluting the city’s Ukrainian resistance.
He told President Zelensky the UK would continue to provide Ukraine with weapons and armoured vehicles, including armoured vehicles, despite the new sanctions imposed last week.
Russia has banned Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson from entering the country because of the UK’s “hostile stance” in Ukraine, according to the phone conversation’s transcript.
It also comes a week after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko spoke face-to-face rather than over the phone.
