A former soldier who claimed to be one of only three living recipients of the Victoria Cross and Queen’s Gallantry Medal has been shown to be a forger.

Armed military veterans have accused Baz Porter of lying, claiming he has been reborn and served as a warrior in ancient Egypt and China.

Last week, the veteran-run Walter Mitty Hunters Club revealed Porter on their Facebook page.

Porter was a motivational speaker and spiritualist in California until recently. He introduces himself as the Light Angel and offers assistance to individuals who are traumatised.

In March, Porter was photographed carrying a massive rack of medals at the Secret Knock Soiree in San Diego.

However, a former partner alleged the medals were forged. Another lady who met Porter in the UK through his Facebook profile claimed he preys on weak women searching for mates.

Porter, also known as Barry Buckle, served in the Light Infantry from 1997 until 2004. If he had received the medals he claims, he would have been one of the most decorated soldiers in recent history.

Porter says in a video that his wife was on a plane that crashed into the World Trade Center, and that following the 9/11 attacks, he was transported to the United States to assist with the rescue mission.
