Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and panel of the chair in National Assembly (NA) Ayaz Sadiq has also submitted his nomination papers to run for the speaker NA.

As per details, Ayaz Sadiq submitted his papers just a few minutes before the time limit for the submission of the papers.

After the development, there will now be a contest between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Ayaz Sadiq of PML-N.

PML-N maintained that presenting Ayaz Sadiq as a candidate is part of their strategy.

Earlier, Raja Pervaiz was the sole candidate for the slot, and chances of him being elected unopposed were clear.

It is pertinent to mention here, former speaker of the assembly and PTI leader Asad Qaiser resigned from the post after refusing to conduct vote on the no-confidence motion against former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
