The Grantchester season seven comes to an end tonight as Geordie and Will realize that they may have made a big mistake

As seventh season has one last case for Geordie and Will to solve as Grantchester comes to an end. Season’s grand finale was set to air on April 15 on ITV.

After another homeless man is found to have been killed in the same way as last victims, DI Geordie Keating and Reverend Will Davenport will be realizing that they may have sent the wrong person to prison. The pair race against time to find the real killer and make things right in the village.

In episode, Will pledges to abstain from love, whereas after a comment from Professor Larson, his thoughts soon turn back to romance.

Current series of Grantchester ends, but is there going to be an eighth season and when could it be released? Here’s the lowdown ahead of tonight’s finale.

Grantchester season eight has still to be confirmed by ITV. Series star Robson Green has revealed that the channel has “got the green light on negotiations” for a further season of crime drama.

Actor said that cast members were “open to negotiations” for another series of Grantchester.

He said: “We’re open to negotiations so they’re planning season eight.

“WGBH and ITV would love to do another series. It’s just making sure that everyone else is up for it too, including Charlotte Ritchie, including Tom Brittney and everybody else.”

He concluded by saying: “So obviously there’s an appetite for another series of Grantchester. Whether it’ll happen or not is another story, but it’s got the green light on negotiations, so to speak. I would say it’s on amber.”
