Russian troops have been committing atrocities in Ukraine since the invasion began, according to Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio.

According to ANSA, according to Ukrinform.

“Italy does not have the ingredients to determine whether a genocide is taking place in Ukraine,” Di Maio added, “but the horrors are clear, such as the deaths of children and people.”

He went on to say that Italy had already petitioned the International Criminal Court to examine the evidence of the Russian atrocities.

“When Putin says that they must conclude operations [in Ukraine], I feel he is not signalling peace. As a result, we must maintain sanctions [against Russia] “According to Di Maio.

He also expressed optimism that Orthodox Easter might be a success.

“We’re working on it because it’s the only means to get civilians and children out of the range of Russian bombs in eastern Ukraine, where the attacks are intensifying,” he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24. Artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and ballistic missiles have been used by Russian troops to shell and destroy infrastructure and residential areas in Ukrainian cities, towns, and villages.

Sanctions were imposed on the belligerent country by the United States, the European Union, and other countries.

The International Court of Justice of the United Nations ordered Russia to stop invading Ukraine on March 16.
