An automobile and a railway collided in South Australia’s Mid North.
A “severe” incident involving a car and a train occurred along the Augusta Highway in Winninowie at approximately 12.30 pm today, according to South Australia Police.
According to 9News, the collision occurred between a freight train and a ute, with only one occupant in the car.
Hundreds of meters along the rails, the vehicle was pushed until the train came to a complete halt.
The driver’s condition is unknown at this time.
No one was wounded on the train.
“Motorists are asked to take care traveling through the area as emergency services are in attendance and there may be delays,” South Australia Police said in a statement.
Major accident investigators have arrived on the scene.
