David Walliams in brutal dug said Simon Cowell’s wedding will be full of famous celebrities as he hasn’t got real friends, he said he shouldn’t hold his breath waiting for an invite to Simon’s upcoming nuptials.
In new season of BGT funnyman spends most of time antagonizing his fellow judge, as you would expect, now he is talking about the likely guest list for Cowell’s wedding and is threatening to hijack the stag party.
In statement David said: “You know, he doesn’t have any real friends, so he’ll likely invite all his showbiz mates or people he’s worked with him hasn’t sacked.
“If I organized the stag party for him, I think I’d organize a night in a restaurant, a bit of entertainment, give Simon some laughs, maybe some cabaret.
“Then I’d get up and do a sort of performance about Simon to make him cringe.” I think I’d quite like David organizing my stag do. .
Thrilled Amanda Holden, who is also returning as one of the four-person judging panel alongside Simon, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.
Amanda said: “We’re always grateful for the gig but this year, more than ever, we are happy to be back sat next to each other and be reunited.
“As human beings, we’re all in a different space now. I think Simon especially is really loving life and is prioritizing different things.
“He is finally reaping the benefits of 40-odd years of hard work in this industry.
“And he is in a place where he’s now doing stuff he wants to do rather than has to do. That’s made such a huge difference to him.
“Britain’s Got Talent has always been top of his list of things he wants to continue to be part of.”
But she jests that his commitment to the show was probably tested a little. . . by sitting next to her during the lengthy audition process.
Often they were in each other’s company for ten hours a day, during which she chattered non-stop.
Then Amanda recalled: “He literally said, ‘you know when you’re good friends with someone that silence is actually a good thing’.
“I was like, ‘I know, I know’. But I never stopped talking!
“I talked about everything from what I feed my pets to what wallpaper I’ve got. So, poor chap, he’s been inundated with useless information about my life!”
She giggled: “I’m sure he was probably glad to get home at the end of the day.”
Latest season of BGT boasts what Simon called “the perfect audition”. It connects to movie musical The Greatest Showman, which Simon is a huge fan of.
He said: “This was about as close as you’re going to get to a perfect audition.
“I don’t want to reveal too much because I want it to be a surprise for the audience.
“I want them to experience what I did in the moment.
“You know nothing about what’s going to happen and learn their story on the day.”
When Simon met the movie’s star, Hugh Jackman, he added: “It was just amazing to meet him. He is the nicest guy.
“I’m rarely starstruck but I was when I met him because I was such a fan of the movie.
“I don’t really like musicals but I think this was the best musical movie ever made.”
David told: “They said to us, ‘Congratulations! We’ve got something special surprise for you to celebrate your ten years on BGT together’.
“They had this massive picture done of the four judges. We were quite moved by it.
“And then they played the good joke on us. It turned out to be a picture of four judges who’d previously done BGT, not us.
“So it was David Hasselhoff, Piers Morgan, Carmen Electra and Kelly Brook. To be fair, it was quite a good wind-up.”
David added: “I’m sure they’ve been doing stuff we still have no clue about and will only realize when we see the show go out.”
