The Sun can confirm that Harry and Meghan travelled into the UK today for a covert face-to-face encounter with the Queen.
The pair also paid a quick visit to Windsor Castle, their first combined trip to the UK since they retired from royal duties in March 2020.
They were on their way to the Invictus Games in Holland when they decided to halt.
It comes only weeks after Harry opted not to attend his grandpa Philip’s burial ceremony at Westminster Abbey, but he did pledge to see his grandma “as soon as possible.”
It is unknown whether the couple brought their two-year-old son Archie and 11-month-old daughter Lilibet, whom the Queen has never met.
Yesterday’s secret stay marked Harry and Meghan’s first visit to the United Kingdom since March 2020.
A busload of surprised well-wishers noticed them.
The pair grinned and waved to the surprised onlookers who had gathered in Windsor for the customary Maundy Thursday rite.
“I couldn’t believe it when I saw who it was,” one onlooker stated. We waved, and they returned the gesture.
“They appeared to be joyful and calm, and they waved to everyone on the bus.” Because Charles and the Queen were both at Windsor Castle at the same time, they must have met.
“It was a sight to behold. We expected to see Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall at the ceremony, but we never expected to see Harry and Meghan.”
The pair, who are leaving the throne for a life in the United States in 2020, have aroused outrage with a series of broadsides from both sides of the Atlantic.
Harry is also suing the government for depriving him of his armed bodyguards, stating that he “does not feel safe in the UK.”

Harry plans to stay in Holland for the week-long celebration for injured troops, which he helped organise.
