French presidential election: Protestor thrown and dragged across the room

A protestor, Pauline Rapilly Ferniot was thrown and dragged across the room from Marine Le Pen’s conference, during French presidential address.

She was holding a heart-shaped sign with a photo of the French presidential candidate, and Putin.

She is a city-councilor at Boulogne-Billancourt commune in Paris.

Footage shows Ferniot got to her feet, holding up the sign, while Le Pen spoke to the reporters.

Then a security officer throws her to the ground, and she is dragged out with a single arm.

The city councilor is then pulled into another room, when the doors are closed afterward.

She is a part of a left-wing group, called the Ibiza Collective.

Speaking after she was removed from the conference, Ms Ferniot said: “We just wanted to make visible the fact that Marine Le Pen’s diplomacy is to be complacent with dictators and so we made that visible.”

She added that Le Pen was a strong partner of Putin for a long time.

Ferniot wanted to highlight subjects that people don’t talk often, so it worked as everyone was talking to her regarding her objective behind the act.

She proceeded with, “And we need, in this between-two-rounds, to remember the danger that is the National Rally.”

Le Pen, who leads the National Rally party, initiated the conference to warn against sending weapons to Ukraine.

She also wanted close relations with NATO and Russia, once the war ends.
