The Queen’s 96th birthday falls on the same day as Prince Harry’s visit to The Hague for the Invictus Games, but royal expert Robert Jobson tells the Mirror that they are unlikely to meet.
Despite the fact that it coincides with his vacation to Europe to attend the Invictus Games in the Netherlands, Prince Harry is unlikely to pay the Queen a visit on her 96th birthday next week, according to an expert.
Meghan Markle, Harry’s wife, has confirmed that they will both be attending the Invictus Games in The Hague starting this weekend.
It will be the couple’s first overseas journey together since they left their jobs as senior royals and went to California with their children Archie and Lilibet to start a new life together.
Palace insiders have slammed the couple’s decision to attend the ceremony in The Hague after Harry said it was “too unsafe” to fly to the UK.
They did not attend the late Prince Philip’s memorial service last month, and Harry is presently fighting the UK government over a decision to lower his security.
So, given how close Harry and Meghan will be to the royals when they visit the Netherlands, could they at least pay a visit to the Queen, who will be celebrating her 96th birthday on Thursday, the same week as the Games?
Even though the travel to London is only an hour, royal analyst and author Robert Jobson believes this is implausible
