Florida: A mother asks for answers as her husband is murdered in front of a 2-year-old

A Microsoft executive is killed in front of his 2-year-old daughter. His wife, Kristen asks for answers on behalf of her kid, who had to witness the dreadful ruination of their family.

A despondent widow implores for public’s help after the murder of her husband, in front of their 2-year-old. The incident took place in a suburb of North Florida.

Kristen Bridegan, 1 30-year-old, says. “It was pure cowardice and evil.” Their daughter, Bexley, watched the killing from car seat.

“To have that done where he didn’t even have a chance to fight back, and it was done in front of his daughter. I would ask anyone who knows anything to come forward,” she adds.

The incident

Jared dropped his older children at his ex-wife’s home in Jasonville Beach, after 7:30 p.m.

He was driving back his home in St. Augustine, his child, Bexley was also sitting with him. It was a one-way road, they encountered a tire in the middle of the road. He stepped out of the car, and got shot.

According to Sgt. Tonya Tator of the Jacksonville Beach Police Department, authorities are still investigating if the tire was placed to lure Jared out.

Kristen was at home, with their 7-month-old. Jared did not return, and it was quite late.

She recalls, “He wasn’t answering my texts or my calls.” She thought perhaps he got into an accident. She knew something wasn’t right.

She immediately took her mom, and drove her car in search of Jared. She kept calling, when someone finally picked up.

It wasn’t Jared this time, a police officer picked up the phone, but did not inform the situation.

He only asked her to come to Jacksonville Beach Police Department.

She adds, “I told my mom, ‘Jared is not OK.’ I just knew. My whole body, my spirit, I knew he wasn’t okay.”

Kristen went there, hugged her kid, Bexley, who was in absolute shock. Then a detective informed her husband’s death.

She continued, “I started crying, my hands were shaking — I looked for a trash can because I felt like I was going to throw up. I kept saying ‘This isn’t real, this can’t be real.”

The investigation

Sgt. Tator pleaded the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of Jared’s killer.

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department had earlier released surveillance camera stills of a dark-colored Ford F-150 dubbed a “vehicle of interest.”

She said, “Somebody out there knows what happened or knows somebody that was involved in this, and we’re asking them to do the right thing.”

The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives are providing resources to the local police, including forensic evidence processing labs.

Tator said, “We’re waiting on forensic evidence to come back and when we receive that information, we will go from there in our investigation.”

They is a $25,000 reward, for anyone who brings evidence.
