The search for a gunman who shot ten people in a rush hour attack on a New York City subway station appears to be hindering the hunt by malfunctioning cameras.
Subway cameras in the city have been plagued by maintenance concerns and persistent problems for years, according to city officials.
After initially labelling him as a person of interest following the incident, police labelled Frank R James, 62, as a suspect.
Mr James allegedly wrote prejudiced and threatening rants on the internet, according to authorities.
Mr James allegedly detonated two smoke bombs and opened fire with a semi-automatic revolver at the 36th Street station in Brooklyn on Tuesday morning, injuring ten individuals, according to police.
