Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has finally been released in theaters, and it has proved to be a worthy sequel which builds up Sega’s cinematic universe.
Now that it has proved is worth and further there are many of possibilities for the third film which is in process of development, so let’s race all the ways to an exciting sequel.
In movie’s obligatory mid-credits scene, the military organization G.U.N. uncovers 50 years old file, in past which connect to a facility holding “Project Shadow.”
The ARK is a space station is quite similar to the Death Star. The Eggman’s grand-father, Gerald Robotnik, made Shadow in an attempt to discover the secret to eternal life and cure his granddaughter who was ill, Maria. The United State government will soon shut down the station after they attacked it, killing Maria. From Shadow’s discovery at the end of the film, we could see the ARK also awaken from its 50-year slumber in the sequel.
In movie, the seven Chaos Emeralds military inside the Master Emerald, which broke during the last battle against Eggman. When Sonic defeated him, the hedgehog gave up his divine power and sent the Emeralds into space.
Whereas Master Emerald was shattered in movie’s third act, Knuckles took the shards and then reforged the big green gem.
The movie didn’t clarified whether Eggman survived his great fall or not, but if Stone made it, he could have too. And if Eggman did die during battle, than this may drive Stone to use Shadow to help him seek out the seven Chaos Emeralds to try and revive his master.
Recently Jim Carrey told that he now plans to retire from acting, but unless he likes the script to Sonic 3, then this might be the last time we see his Eggman on-screen.
