Dan Walker took social media to hit back at rumors about his BBC Breakfast departure. Last week host announced that he will be moving ship from the BBC to Channel 5.

Dan Walker has hit back at rumors about his BBC Breakfast exit in a lengthy social media statement.

The TV host dismissed press reports about leaving BBC that cite unnamed “sources” and “moles.”

Posting a snap of a sunset to symbolize the end of his BBC stint and the start of something new, Dan said, “It is often the case that the simple truth is much duller than all the made-up ‘moles’ and so-called ‘sources’ claim.”

He added: “In a nutshell… a bloke with a really good job, which he loved, got offered a really good job somewhere else which provided an amazing new challenge and the opportunity to make some exciting telly.

“The bloke explained to his current employers that, even though it was a tough decision, he had decided to leave. They are now trying their best to allow him to make a dignified departure.”

Fans of the BBC Breakfast favorite quickly comment below his post, with many leaving sweet messages.
