Jersey, the sports drama film starring Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur, has been re-released. Previously, the film was set to be released on April 14, 2022, clashing with Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2. The film has now been postponed, and it will now be released on April 22.
Gowtam Tinnanuri directed the film, which stars Pankaj Kapoor and is produced by Dil Raju, S. Naga Vamsi, and Aman Gill. Aman Gill, the film producer, said in an official release, “As a team, we have put our blood sweat and tears into ‘Jersey’ and would like our beloved film to reach all of you in the widest possible way. Jersey will now release on 22nd April.”
In the film, Shahid Kapoor plays Arjun Talwar, a former cricketer who returns to the game to fulfil his son’s ambition for a jersey. Mrunal will play Shahid’s wife Vidya Talwar, and Pankaj will play Arjun’s coach Madhav Sharma.
It was originally set to be released in theatres on August 28, 2020, and then again on November 5, 2021, before the COVID-19 epidemic forced a postponement. Later, the filmmakers decided to release the film in theatres on December 31, 2021, but it was postponed indefinitely owing to the Omicron variant spread.
