Julian Lennon sang ‘Imagine’ for Ukraine.

Julian Lennon broke promise for an important cause on April 9, 2022. He joined Global Citizen to raised money for Ukraine.

The international organization started a social media rally to support ‘Stand Up For Ukraine’ campaign. Lennon was accompanied by the guitarist, Nuno Bettencourt. In his YouTube video, Lennon wrote, “The War on Ukraine is an unimaginable tragedy…

“As a human, and as an artist, I felt compelled to respond in the most significant way I could. So today, for the first time ever, I publicly performed my Dad’s song, IMAGINE.

“Why now, after all these years? I had always said, that the only time I would ever consider singing ‘IMAGINE’ would be if it was the ‘End of the World’…

“But also because his lyrics reflect our collective desire for peace worldwide.”

He is John Lennon’s first son with his first wife, Cynthia. Lennon was born on April 8, 1963, in Liverpool, he was the inspiration behind some of the Beatles’ most famous songs, including Hey Jude.

This singer has produced a number of albums, his first being Valotte in 1984. He also had two top ten singles in the UK: Too Late For Goodbyes in 1984 and Saltwater in 1991.
