Relief for Shehbaz Sharif, court adjourns money laundering case

PM Shehbaz to undertake day-long visit to Karachi tomorrow

LAHORE: Relief for Prime Ministerial candidate Shehbaz Sharif , as a special central court in Lahore on Monday, adjourns the money laundering case against him and his son Hamza Shehbaz.

The special court summoned the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders when Shehbaz Sharif filed an apology while his son Hamza Shehbaz appeared in the court.

On the other hand, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) prosecution team failed to appear in the court.

Amjad Pervaiz, the lawyer of Shehbaz Sharif, maintained that his client was in the National Assembly session and hence couldn’t make it to the court.

In addition, Hamza Shehbaz’s lawyer presented before the court that the hearing on the petition submitted by the former is to be held in Lahore High Court (LHC) so the hearing here should be adjourned.

A high-profile money laundering probe started against the PML-N leaders during former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s tenure as the PM detected 28 Benami accounts of Shehbaz’s family.
