A man was sentenced to prison for stalking a television star and setting fire to his home

A stalker who lit a fire in the carport of Trollops television star Denise Welch’s home, leaving her “panicked”, has been imprisoned.

Toraq Wyngard, 64, who was found with a kitchen blade in his backpack, caused £4,285 of harm after the fire spread.

She said she was thankful to Ms Welch and her loved ones “for showing persistence in permitting equity to win”.

“I trust the present sentence and limiting request gives them some harmony,” she added.
