Yami Gautam discusses how certain high-end Bollywood designers declined to provide her with lehengas for appearances, claiming that it was unkind.
Yami Gautam is ecstatic by the positive response to her film Dasvi. The actor has received positive feedback for her portrayal of Jyoti Deswal, a humanitarian detainee in the show. In an interview with the well known newspaper, Yami Gautam revealed how the entertainment industry categorizes celebrities. She claimed that just a few high-end Bollywood designers would lend her lehengas for functions. However, she stated that not everyone acts in the same way. Top designers, according to Yami Gautam, refuse to give dresses to everybody and everyone. She portrays a jailor in Dasvi, where she assists Abhishek Bachan (Ganga Ram Chaudhary) in passing his tenth examination.
Yami Gautam said that she has been lucky to get clothes from really good designers, who always support her. She said it was an entire system that categorized celebs. She told the paper, “I remember I heard that about myself once. That person said, ‘No, that lehenga is not for you’, and I was like ‘What, why?!’, and they said, ‘No, just doesn’t work with that designer’. It was so mean.” She claimed she didn’t grasp the requirements for getting clothing from a specific designer. She was puzzled as to how people could make someone feel so horrible. Yami Gautam continued, “But it’s not true for all designers, some of them are really good with their work and their attitude, but there is always a rotten apple.”
The actress discussed how she resolved not to be made to feel awful about herself by anyone. Yami Gautam stated that she wanted her wedding to be unique to her. Last year, she tied the knot with Aditya Dhar. Yami Gautam explained that she wore her mother’s wedding saree because of the emotional attachment she has to it. It’s also a pass-down from generation to generation.
