Half of the Brits believe Charles should abdicate in order for Prince William to become King

According to a poll, over half of Britons believe the Prince of Wales should abdicate in order for the Duke of Cambridge to become King.

According to the Ipsos poll, 42 percent of respondents believe Charles should abdicate so that his son William can seize the crown.

This contrasts to 24 percent who believe the prince should not stand aside for the duke, and 29 percent who are undecided.

However, according to the survey, 48 percent of people in the UK believe Charles will do a good job, 19 percent believe he will do a bad job, and 27 percent believe he will do neither a good nor a bad job.

The study, which included interviews with a representative sample of 2,055 British adults on March 24 and 25, also discovered that the proportion of individuals who see Charles favourably has climbed by 11 percentage points since 2018.

More than a third (36%) feel the same way about the Duchess of Cornwall.

However, Britons are significantly more likely to have a favourable impression of the Queen, who is viewed favourably by 69 percent, William, who is viewed favourably by 64 percent, and the Duchess of Cambridge, who is viewed favourably by 60 percent.
