For the first time, a teen mother in court accused of killing a newborn has been photographed.
Paris Mayo, 18, is accused of murdering the infant in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, when she was just 15 years old in March 2019.

The adolescent was charged with murder today at Worcester Crown Court.
Mayo, who was dressed in a white pullover and jogging leggings, cried during the brief hearing.
She was remanded in custody and will return to the same court next month.
Police were called to the residence at 8.40 a.m. on March 24, 2019, after receiving a report of a welfare concern.

A baby’s body was discovered on the premises, and Mayo was arrested.
“Police were contacted to complaints of a concern for the welfare of a newborn infant at a property in Ross-on-Wye,” Superintendent Sue Thomas said at the time.
“During the visit, the body of an infant was uncovered.” The coroner and the baby’s next of kin have been notified.

“The death is being investigated as suspicious, and an inquiry is underway to determine the circumstances behind the baby’s death.”
“A 15-year-old Ross-on-Wye girl was detained in connection with this incident and has been released on police bail while investigations continue.”
