After his scene stealing turn in Dune, and in the second season See, Jason Momoa has announced his first TV writing project. He will co-write and executive produce Chief of War series by Apple. He will also star in the series in lead role.
Chief of War is going to be an eight episode series initially and is being billed as “the story of the unification and colonization of Hawaii from an indigenous point of view.”
Aquaman fame actor will write the script with Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, with whom he’s worked twice before. Sibbett wrote the 2018 Momoa movie Brazen, and serves as a co-writer for his upcoming film The Last Manhunt. They both are executive producers of the series as well.
Jason Momoa has previously co-wrote, directed, and headlined 2014’s Road to Paloma. The actor has born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and of Native Hawaiian lineage. He has shared his love for his native land in many interviews.
