A WOMAN has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a newborn infant.
Paris Mayo, 18, is accused of murdering the toddler in Ross-on-Wye, Heref, in March 2019, when she was just 15 years old.
She was detained and charged this morning in connection with the infant’s death, according to cops.
Mayo, of Ruardean, Glos, is scheduled to appear today in Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court.
West Mercia Police were summoned to a flat at 8.40 a.m. on March 24, 2019, when they discovered the baby’s dead.
“Police were contacted to complaints of a concern for the welfare of a newborn infant at a property in Ross-on-Wye,” Superintendent Sue Thomas said at the time.
“On attendance, the body of a baby was discovered. The baby’s next of kin and the coroner have been informed.
“The death is being treated as suspicious and investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death.
“A 15-year-old girl from Ross-on-Wye has been arrested in connection with this incident and has been released on police bail while investigations are ongoing.”
