A MUM’S “mutilated” body was discovered buried behind a mound of garments after her estranged husband stabbed and strangled her, according to court testimony.

Jade Marsh, 27, was supposedly “moving on” with her life when she was murdered by “controlling” Russell Marsh.

On the night Jade died, the 29-year-old night shift worker informed his superiors that he needed to leave work early because his brother had attempted suicide.

CCTV, ANPR cameras, and phone masts were alleged to have followed him to his previous family home in Shotton, North Wales.

Once there, jurors heard Marsh stabbed then strangled the mum-of-four before telling police he had “done something horrible” and said they would find the Co-op worker dead in her bed.

According to reports, police pushed their way in and discovered the bedroom door was fastened with a dressing gown string.

Jade was discovered buried behind a mound of garments in her bloodstained pyjamas on August 26, last year, according to the court.

A pathology investigation revealed that she had several wounds “over her body,” including her face and arms, as well as grip mark bruises.

There was also indications of “defensive” wounds on her hands, indicating she had “made efforts to fend off” her attacker, according to the report.

Jade’s corpse had been “mutilated,” according to prosecutor Michael Jones QC, and her “horrific” cause of death was asphyxiation, which could only be carried out by another person.

Marsh denies murder and a lesser charge of manslaughter.
