Prime Minister Imran Khan to continue duties: ex-law minister

Former information and law minister Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will continue his duties under Article 224 of the constitution. However, the federal cabinet has been dissolved.

In a move by Prime Minister Imran Khan against which the opposition seemed off the guard, he advised President Arif Alvi to dissolve NA which has been approved.

He revealed the ‘surprise’, that he was talking about ahead of the day of voting on the no-confidence motion against him, in a brief public address after the NA deputy speaker termed the move ‘unconstitutional’.

The former law minister took to his Twitter account and wrote, “The prime minister will continue his duties under Article 224 of the constitution. The cabinet has been dissolved.”

Meanwhile, the former minister of state for information & broadcasting Farrukh Habib on Sunday said that the new elections in the country will be held in 90 days.
