NA dissolved: ‘New elections to be held in 90 days’

After the national assembly (NA) has been dissolved,  former minister of state for information & broadcasting Farrukh Habib on Sunday said that the new elections in the country will be held in 90 days.

In a surprising move by Prime Minister Imran Khan, he advised President Arif Alvi to dissolve NA which has been approved.

He revealed the ‘surprise’, that he was talking about ahead of the day of voting on the no-confidence motion against him, in a brief public address after the NA deputy speaker termed the move ‘unconstitutional’.

Now, as the political climax reaches its apex, the former minister has announced that new elections in the country will be held within 90 days.

However, the opposition parties have termed the move by the government as blatant abrogation of the constitution and decided to approach the Supreme Court (SC).
