Shadab Khan has joined Yorkshire for the T20 Blast this year

Shadab Khan, a Pakistani all-rounder has been signed by Yorkshire County Cricket Club for this year’s Vitality Blast competition.

Shadab will play the first five games before returning for the final six games of the group stage, according to the club’s press statement.

“I have been watching the team from afar over the past four or five years and I think that we have lacked a couple of things that I would like to see. I would like our one day game to go in a different direction,” said said Darren Gough, Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s Managing Director of Cricket.

“Shadab Khan is someone who can bat at the top, bat in the middle order and hits the ball a long way. He is also an unbelievable spinner. You can imagine Shadab, Adil Rashid and Dom Bess bowling together, giving us a fantastic spin department.”

Haris Rauf, a teammate of the Pakistan all-rounder, will also be joining the club for the five Vitality Blast matches.

“I’m really excited to be heading to Yorkshire for the Blast,” said Shadab on his signing.

“Ever since I started my cricketing journey it has always been a dream of mine to play county cricket. It will be made even more special with me being able to play alongside my good friend, Haris.”

With his ability to bat up the order and pick up important wickets in the middle overs, Shadab, who made his international debut in 2017, provides a plethora of experience in the shorter format.
